Engage with GEO at the UN Climate Change Conference next week in Madrid

The scientific community will join world leaders in Madrid, Spain for the United Nations Climate Change Conference - COP25. From 2-13 December in Feria de Madrid (IFEMA), GEO will take part in several events.

Earth Information Day at COP25 – Tuesday December 3 2019

Earth Information Day 2019 will showcase the latest Earth observations activities and exchange information on the state of the global climate. Earth Information Day at COP25 will be open to observers and webcast. Questions can be submitted via sli.do.

GEO will be involved in the Plenary session (10:00–13:00) with presentations and discussions. At the Poster session (13:15–15:00) GEO will present Posters on GEOGLAM’s Global Agricultural Monitoring Initiative and Digital Earth Africa. This session will allow for dialogue between experts, Parties and observers.

3 key themes will guide Earth Info Day:

  • Updates on the state of the global climate;
  • Updates on implementing Earth observations for region and country needs;
  • Earth observation for science, policy and practice, and retooling global cooperation to respond to future climate risk.

EU Side Event Progressing Climate Adaptation - Wednesday 4 December 2019

This Side Event at the EU Pavilion - Room Brussels (14.30 – 18.00) at COP25 will focus on standards, metrics, footprinting and mainstreaming. More details about the event can be found below:
