I am excited to begin this important global leadership role in Earth observations at a time when GEO has gained strong momentum, enabled by the services of the GEO Secretariat.  The stakes have never been higher and international collaboration never more important to provide timely environmental intelligence to the decision makers. I look forward to working with the talented GEO Secretariat team to serve our members’ needs, and position GEO for a successful renewal of our mandate by ministers in 2025. This will enable us to collectively continue to realize the benefits of Earth observations to build a sustainable future for communities worldwide.”
